CLEOBURY MEDICAL CENTRE

A friendly, semi-rural, forward looking practice situated in a delightful part of South Shropshire with 3 partners working from purpose built premises and part of the North Worcestershire training scheme. All the doctors including the registrar have their own room each with their own computer running "EMIS" software. All the partners are committed to teaching and learning in general practice with the emphasis on adult self-directed continued professional development. There is ample time for learning with time protected tutorial with each of the partners each week with additional tutorials from the Practice Manager – all tailored to the individual trainees needs.

There are weekly "business" meetings and fortnightly whole clinical team meetings.

We have a well-stocked library – both traditional and electronic (Oxford textbook, Cochrane Best Evidence, National formulary Drug and Therapeutics Bulletin, NHS net etc) In addition we are connected to the NHS net with internet access from every consulting room.

The practice belongs to ‘Shropdoc’ out of hours commitment for the

Registrar would be two 5-hour sessions per month.

Dr. Nixon sits as a medical director on the Shropdoc council.

One of the partners is an Examiner for the video component of summative assessment.

Our GP Registrars all seem to have enjoyed their time with us, enjoying learning in an environment without an excessive workload yet being exposed to all aspects of modern General practice.
