We would like to invite you to spend your time as a GP registrar with us.

We are a team of six full time GPs and extensive Primary Health Care Team working from our own premises in the centre of town serving a patient list of around 13000 patients who live in the town and surrounding area. As well offering the usual range of GP services the practice offers counselling, physiotherapy, minor surgery, and family planning.

The main purpose of your time with us is a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn as much about quality general practice as you can. Your trainer will be Dr Gillian Cooper who believes that all the best learning is done when you are having fun, so she will make your time as enjoyable as possible. You will have a personal learning plan drawn up by yourself and Gilly to suit your own learning needs – this will include tutorials, visits to clinics and any other relevant venues. Unfortunately this will inevitably be highjacked by summative assessment and preparation for the MRCGP but we do our best! You will not be thrown in at the deep end but will have a graduated introduction to all the variety of general practice, eg no duty until 4-8weeks after starting. By the end of the year you should be capable of managing all the rough and tumble of full time general practice!
