We are a partnership of 4 full time GPs; Dr Richard Horton, Dr Gary Parsons, Dr Rachel Ward and Dr Marie Gibson. Dr Rachel Ward is our current trainer, and Dr Parsons is also qualified to train. Dr Matthew Tucker works with us as a part time salaried GP.
Dr Marie Gibson joined the partnership in 2007, having previously been a registrar here. We feel this is a good testimony to the registrar experience at this Practice!
We work from a purpose built health centre, which has been extensively modernised, and the registrar is allocated a room exclusively for their use. In addition, we run a family planning clinic and are a training practice for the DFFP. The whole practice team enjoys that we are a training practice and participates in training.
We look after about 7900 patients, with whom we have an excellent relationship, always polling very high satisfaction levels in the patient surveys, which the government obliges us to do!
It is a friendly partnership, and the very low staff turnover testifies to it being a very pleasant place to work. Friendliness does not prevent effectiveness, however, and we are a very high achieving practice in the Quality and Outcomes Framework.
We work almost totally paperless and make great use of IT- do not worry if you are not IT confident. We can get you up to speed!
Finally Dr Ward’s main interests outside of work and family include running and triathalons- but as yet she has not done any tutorials whilst jogging round the Wyre Forest.
