TRAINING IN GENERAL PRACTICE 

THE PRACTICE

We are a seven partner practice situated in the Franche area of Kidderminster with 10700 patients throughout the town as well as in the surrounding countryside and villages. We practice from a converted Victorian building with seven consulting rooms, a minor ops theatre and nursing facilities. We’re fully computerised with a brand new "Vision" system and all the mod cons of general practice

The current trainer is Tony Carter, although all of the partners are involved. Frank Morgan is an experienced trainer of many years standing and Christine Smith is a family planning training doctor and also a trainer in child health surveillance. Tony is a summative assessment video examiner. We have protected tutorial time of 3 hours per week and encourage our Registrars to sit the MRCGP exam.

We believe the most important aspect of the training year is to enjoy yourself.

A full time Registrar will work 7 surgeries per week and attend one antenatal clinic, with one half day off and another half day for the VTS course. On-call is at the Wyre Forest Primary Care Centre approximately one night per month.
